Just some additional tips;
-call the revs office when it's not busy. I used to call mine right before bed and I got through right away and the bored agent could advice me on flights for the whole week!

-check to see if there's a dress code and don't skimp on it. They can be serious about that stuff at check-in.

-Find out if there's a special line for employees/standbys before you stand in line for nothing. They aren't being mean. Sometimes the computers are set up differently and they don't have access to the right stuff to check you in properly. The guy at the standby desk is taking care of it!

-If there are several flights to your destination, set your alarm and try for the first. That will give you all day to get to where you're going. Less chance of delays too.

-Look into alternate airports, depending on where Jet Blue flies. I would jump on flights to either Oakland or San Francisco, for example. One could be stuffed while you could waltze right onboard the other.

-Don't get slooshed and/or misbehave onboard. The same rule about conduct that applies to how you treat the ground staff, applies to the cabin crew too. Dancing naked on your tray table could get your buddy in hot water. Remember too, if they lose your luggage, keep your cool!

My last tip is the one that I ended up using the most. I'd tell my potiential "buddies", call you travel agent. Say "Listen, I have these passes so I can go for a service charge. I'm willing to pay for a real seat, if you can make it worth my while..."

Such deals they came up with when they heard that my buddies had a more attractive offer! Most of my buddies ended up with the passes in their drawers, after dangling that carrot before the horse, ended up with a "real" seat on board, and then were able to get as slooshed as they wanted to without my having to hear about it later from my supervisor ;)

You've come to the right place. I work for jetblue.

You should have gotten the email from Jetblue saying that your buddy has issued you passes. You call 1800jetblue to list yourself and they will ask you all the questions needed. All of the answers to the questions are in that email. Then they will collect your payment.

When you arrive at the airport, tell the agent that you are flying standby on a buddy pass and give them the flight number.

That's basically it. You don't need any paperwork or anything. Just a valid photo ID. Prioritywise, you will be listed under customers who are on standby who bought full fare tickets, and jetblue crewmembers.

Call your friend the day before the flight to see if they can give you the load so you know if you will have a problem making the flight or not. If you get bumped, just don't get mad an yell at the agent. They can't control if you miss the flight. Plus, if the agent reports your verbal abuse, not only can they deny you boarding, but your buddy would lose their flight benefits.

Just a heads up on that! Good Luck!

Traveling on buddy passes means you will be traveling on standby. Your friend's seniority will determine your luck in making it to the flight. To avoid any hassle, pick a flight date that's not too busy. Maybe on weekdays and non-holidays. The good thing about traveling on buddy passes, it's cheaper plus you have a chance to fly first class or business class. This is great when you travel long distance. Just a reminder, as a buddy pass user, hold your temper. because your friend could get in trouble. Tip: Travel when it's not busy.
