Borobudur temple, Indonesia

Borobudur temple is located in Magelang, Central Java, in addition to being famous tourist attraction, the temple was also a center of worship for Buddhists in Indonesia, especially in the celebration of Vesak. Borobudur Temple also known as "Monastery on the hill" because it is located in the hills.

The-Borobudur-Temple Borobudur is the biggest temple in Indonesia. This temple was built around 800 BC or the 9th century has been established as one of UNESCO’s cultural heritage and proud to not only make all people in Indonesia but also worldwide. This Buddhist temple has 1460 relief panels and 504 Buddha effigies. Borobudur was built by Samaratungga, one of the kings of Old Mataram Kingdom, Sailendra descent. Gunadarma was the architect of record as someone who managed to build this temple.

The base of Borobudur, called Kamadhatu, symbolizing human beings that are still bound by lust. The four levels mentioned above represent Rupadhatu, humans who have set themselves free from lust but still tied to appearance and shape. Borobudur Temple as a whole has ten levels which consists of six levels of, a circular three-level circular square and a main stupa as a peak. At every level there are several stupas. Altogether there are 72 domes in addition to the main stupa. In every stupa there is a statue of Buddha.

In addition, there are relief panels describing the condition of society at that time. All relief panels in Borobudur temple reflect the teachings of Buddha. Therefore, the temple serves as a medium to educate people who want to learn Buddhism

With all the grandeur and mystery that is only natural that everyone from all over the world want to visit Borobudur. Borobudur is the excellence and evidence of human intelligence has ever made in Indonesia. It is also a major cultural attraction in Indonesia not Bali and Jakarta.
